Welcome

Welcome to the official website of the Scottish Athletics League. The Scottish Athletics League is the main league competition for men’s athletics in Scotland (the equivalent league for women is the Scottish Women’s League). The league usually organises four matches each season and all matches have a full set of track events from 100m to 5,000m along with 4 by 100m and 4 by 400m relays. Division 1 matches have a full set of field events, while Division 2 typically has seven out of the eight field events at each match. At each match clubs field two athletes per event. Any clubs, based in Scotland, who are interested in joining the Scottish Athletics League should contact the league secretary. The league is keen to encourage clubs to join.

Events start at 12.00 and finish by 17.00.

At Each Match

Clubs must provide three match officials who must be available for the whole match. One of these three officials must be a “graded” UK Athletics official. Field officials must be present from 11:40. Track officials must be present from 12:40.

Prior to the match all officials must report in person to Neil Donachie.

Registration

By 1 April each year clubs must register the athletes they intend to use during the season. Team managers should submit the registration spreadsheet (by email or on CD) to the League Registration Officer. On the day of each match, team managers may register up to four additional athletes.

Convening Clubs

The league will select two clubs to convene each match. Each convening club must provide one person to assist with administrative duties and one “results runner” as well as two match officials. Convening clubs may also be required to assist in preparing match paperwork before the day of the match.
